BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Mountain Park Home Owners Association is governed by a seven member board of directors. All board members are volunteers who receive no compensation for their work.
Directors serve three year terms and are elected on a rotating basis by members of the association at the annual meeting. Two or three directors are elected each year. In the event of a vacancy on the board, remaining board members may elect a replacement to serve the balance of the unexpired term. Any director may be removed without cause by a majority vote of the members of the association at a properly called meeting.
The board does not oversee day to day operations of the association. That is the job of the executive manager and association staff. Duties of the board include hiring and directing the executive manager, establishing policies, setting budgets and assessments, appointing committees, and approving contracts or other legal documents.
The board typically meets twice a month, having a work session on the second Tuesday of the month and a regular meeting on the fourth. All meetings are open to association members. The agenda is available online prior to the meeting. Member comments are accepted at the regular meeting.
